Capture and storage
Text, transcripts, analysis results, notes, and in-app to-dos are stored on your device. Your original is saved before AI analysis. Recordings are temporary files and are deleted after transcription. Any remaining recording older than 24 hours is deleted the next time the app starts.
The initial release has no separate JotHop account or sync service. Depending on your OS settings, local app data may be included in device backups. Deleting local data does not delete existing OS backups.
Voice and on-device AI
Microphone and speech recognition permissions are requested when you use voice input. On-device recognition is preferred. Using Apple's servers for recognition requires separate consent; the app does not switch without it.
On-device AI processes your input on the device. Your saved original remains available if your device is unsupported or the model is not ready.
Calendars, reminders, and notifications
When you review and save an event or to-do, its contents are sent to your chosen destination. OS permissions are requested when needed. Sync with Google, iCloud, or other services follows your iPhone account settings and those services' settings.
Local notifications are scheduled with your permission. Deleting all app data cancels the app's scheduled notifications. Events and reminders already saved to external destinations remain there.
Cloud analysis, advertising, and diagnostics
Cloud analysis, ad rewards, and optional diagnostics or usage analytics are not available in the current development version.
When offered, consent for cloud analysis, Apple server speech recognition, and improvement analytics will be separate. Notes, recordings, transcripts, and event contents will not be sent to diagnostics or usage analytics. Declining improvement analytics will not reduce basic features, free credits, or ad rewards. Recipients and retention periods will be listed here before those features are enabled.
This website
This site has no contact form, advertising, analytics SDKs, or tracking cookies. Display files, including fonts and images, are served by this site.
This website is hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver and protect the site, Cloudflare may process connection information such as IP addresses, traffic routing data, and device configuration. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details of its processing and retention.
Deletion and contact
You can delete local app data in the app's settings. Delete events or reminders already saved elsewhere using the relevant calendar or reminder app. Cloud credit transfer or restoration is not guaranteed in the initial release.
Do not include personal notes, recordings, event details, or credentials in support requests. Describe the issue and include your app and OS versions.
JotHop is operated by itaosan. Support email is received and stored using Google's Gmail. We use your email address and message to reply and investigate the reported issue. You can also contact the address below to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your support information.
